Day 01Arrival & The Cultural Triangle
Met at the airport by your private chauffeur. Drive inland toward the Cultural Triangle, with stops at the Elephant Orphanage and the painted Dambulla Cave Temple (UNESCO), before arriving at your boutique lodge in the jungle.

Day 02The Sky Fortress & The Royal City
Climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress (UNESCO) in the morning light. Wind through the central hills toward Kandy with curated stops at a Sri Lankan spice village and a gem museum. Evening at a cultural dance performance.

Day 03Highland Valleys & Little England
Pay respects at the Temple of the Tooth Relic (UNESCO) and visit the local batik and silk museums. Ascend into the misty tea country via the Bhakta Hanuman temple. Afternoon through ‘Little England,’ with Lake Gregory and Victoria Park.

Day 04The Descent & River Rapids
Stop at the mythological Seetha Amman Temple before the scenic descent from the mountains. Pause in the jungles of Kitulgala for a white-water rafting run on the Kelani river. Continue to the tropical west coast.

Day 05Colonial Forts & Coastal Waters
South to Galle Fort (UNESCO) — ramparts, the old lighthouse, the restored Dutch Hospital. Back up the coast to navigate the Madu River mangroves by boat, visit a turtle hatchery, and finish with water sports on the Bentota peninsula.

Day 06The Capital Circuit
Up the coast into Colombo for a curated city tour — Gangaramaya Temple, Independence Square, the Pettah shopping district — closing the day with sunset at Galle Face Green.

- Is seven days enough to see Sri Lanka?
- Seven days covers the essential heritage-and-coast loop comfortably: the Cultural Triangle, Kandy, the tea highlands, Galle Fort and the west-coast riviera, without rushing any of them. What it deliberately leaves out — Yala’s leopards, Mirissa’s whales, the deep south — is what the ten-day Grand Ceylon Circuit adds.
- How physically demanding is this route?
- The two exertions are the Sigiriya climb (about 1,200 steps, taken slowly in the morning cool) and the optional white-water rafting at Kitulgala (grade 2–3 rapids with licensed operators). Both have alternatives — Pidurangala Rock or the fortress gardens at Sigiriya, a rainforest walk or river picnic at Kitulgala.
- When is the best time of year for this route?
- December to April is the prime window for everything on this route — the Cultural Triangle, the hill country and the west coast all sit in their dry season. The route also holds up well in the shoulder months; we shape the running order around the weather that matters for your dates.
- Can individual days be swapped or dropped?
- Yes. Rafting out, tea-estate stay in; Colombo shortened for an extra Bentota morning; a Yala day grafted on if wildlife matters more than the capital. The seven days are a starting shape, priced and re-shaped around your dates, lodging tier and interests.
